Sympathy for the Devil

  • Reverend R. T.

If God is denied a True place in this world, then who and what substitutes? Have we become somehow accepting of Evil over time? Is it that familiar and unquestioned? Consider this hypothetical situation: you are driving in your car, and by the side of the road is a "person" who appears to be quite hurt and in need of medical care; he will die if you do nothing to help him. But, he is actually Evil incarnate, "the devil." Would you help him? Most do-gooders could not resist helping him.

Since this world is saturated with evil, corruption, scandal, abuse, exploitation, deception, and illusions, there are people who enthusiastically enact these things — these choices — in their lives, and upon others. In other words, they promote evil, and conceal and deny the truth. Not all of them are evil, but the result is the same, whether a person is good and chooses evil due to ignorance or deception. Evil goes unchallenged and gains acceptance, normalcy, and elevation in people's lives, even good people.

Christ is here to help with this. If we are mistakenly depending upon what is wrong, evil, or a lie, Christ will release us from the Lie. The Truth will set us free. If our vision has grown dim, because we are so used to the Darkness, Christ will shine a Light on us, and set us free. If our hearts are given to what is not of God, or not honoring God, then Christ will meet us in our heart with Love and free us from what wishes to hurt us.

We need only accept God's rightful place in our heart.

Is Jesus working in your life, or is something else?

Those who have little or no attunement with what is right, good, and true, whose choices and actions are not aligned with the Light, perpetuate the darkness — not just for themselves, but for others, too. Evil, error, and wrong are sustained in every choice we make to:

  • remain unaware
  • question nothing
  • deny the truth
  • accept everything the way it is as the way it should be
  • "love" or accept people solely based upon appearances
  • accept lies, deception, or abuse by any person or institution
  • have blind faith in "experts," "authorities," and "leaders"
  • substitute "positive thinking" for true perceptions
  • glorify scientific or technological "solutions" to our problems
  • enforce religious dogma as the "answer" to problems
  • seek material "success" as the be all and end all of existence
  • fail to think for your self, and "hope for the best"
  • let the media or some other institution "interpret" reality for you
  • turn to drugs, alcohol, and sex, for "comfort" rather than face reality
  • look to the outer world to give you everything you "need"
  • deny the existence of God, or
  • deny the existence of Evil.

People who deny the existence of Evil, make themselves blind to its presence in this world, in their lives, or in themselves. This is very different from acknowledging the existence of Evil and then turning to God for the help you need to overcome it. Denial does not make problems go away, it merely makes a place for them.

If you will not see what is wrong, you will not see what is right

"Helping" people to see no wrong with this world or their relationships or other people or their life or themselves is one of the most generously rewarded works of Evil on this planet. For, if people cannot or will not see what is wrong, evil, or a lie, then they will inevitably live their lives in submission to it. And, most do. This is the "business" that positive thinking ministers and New Age leaders are in. And, it's good business.

Those who are selling religious salvation (and building mega-churches) are spiritually oppressing you. Learn to look within your own heart for the Truth, rather than relying upon everyone and everything outside you. Ignorance and unawareness are not an excuse; educate yourself. To solve your problems as a whole, you must actively, energetically, reject lies and illusions — and accept what is true. "Half-truths," self-deception, denial, and ignorance of the truth do not serve you.

A major philosophy defending Evil is found in popular psychology. People are told that they are never bad. There are no bad people, but only what they do might be bad. They are told that they should never feel any shame because they are really good, regardless of what they do. How ludicrous. There are evil beings; many people do not have any conscience whatsoever. Giving them an excuse to do bad things, because they are supposedly "good," only propagates Evil. Evil people want to be told that they are wonderful, no matter how rotten they are. This is why those who engage in promiscuous and perverted sex love to hear pop psychologists say that they should feel no shame — "you are a sexual being finding fulfillment in life."

Pedophiles are now literally asking for sympathy in the media.

Instead of asking, "What's wrong, on a deeper level?" many people ask, "What's in it for me?" Some people refuse to call a problem a problem; some refuse to see what is wrong, to see the lie, to see what is evil and call it that. Such people cannot truly solve problems, for they will not perceive or accept the truth. They prefer to live a lie, and profit by it.

Who profits from lies? Satan, the father of lies.

Do you have sympathy for wrong, evil, lies, or the Devil? The popular philosophy of "accepting the shadow" or "embracing the darkness" is ultimately self-destructive. It is one thing to acknowledge that we are all subject to dark forces in this world, but, it is another to willingly embrace evil. The whole point of being able to see evil for what it is, is so that we may choose something better — reject evil and embrace Good.
