Abortion
Abortion is one of the most difficult subjects to discuss or understand
There are two, main, different, opposing and generally irreconcilable viewpoints on abortion. The advocates of each of these two positions are often militant. Each asserts "rights." Neither is entirely right.
On one hand, you generally have religious belief, indoctrination, and programming. It is believed that a human being is created at conception, as soon as a sperm meets an egg. And, that "life" must be protected at all costs. It is believed to be a new being.
On the other hand, you generally have irreligious or scientific belief, indoctrination, and programming which promotes the belief that a developing embryo or fetus is not really a "human life" until after birth takes place. Till then it believed to be just a clump of cells.
Believing something — no matter how absolute you make the belief, and how many others happen to agree with you — does not make it true. The Truth is often least accepted by society; so, whatever society and its institutions vehemently believe, is frequently untrue. The truth is, human beings do not create "life" or a soul or spirit by the activity of sexual procreation. And, neither does God.
The physical body is simply a shell, a container for a soul/spirit to incarnate into. The spirit or soul predates the physical body, and waits for the proper time to enter the fetus. It does not get created at conception and it does not enter into the embryo. The soul or spirit enters the fetus at the quickening, after about sixteen weeks (sometimes a bit sooner or later). These are the first fetal movements, and they can be felt by most expectant mothers, usually starting as a light fluttering sensation, and then a feeling of the growing baby wiggling or kicking.
For many centuries after Jesus, the Church did not forbid abortion
Rather, it knew the truth that abortion was not murder and does not destroy a soul or spirit. A soul need not become attached to a physical body until physical birth (and does not even meet with the fetal body until about four months after conception, when "quickening" is observed). But, this truth was suppressed by the Church, because it was determined to have total control over everyone's life from conception to death. In the words of Pope Francis, followers of Christ belong to the Church, (like property), and must not have a direct relationship with Jesus Christ or God, because that is "very dangerous."
Integral with the issue of abortion is the issue of birth control. Again, the Church promotes a policy that is allegedly "pro life" but in reality is geared to maximizing births, membership in the Church, church attendance, and suffering in people's lives (which is not unrelated). A lot of suffering comes to families who can least afford to have many children — especially in Third World countries, where a dozen children is not uncommon. The Church's policy forbidding the use of birth control, even a simple condom, condemns people to lives of real suffering and hardship.
There is a pill which prevents conception, which a woman can take if she was raped or otherwise needed to not get pregnant (which is not the same as aborting an embryo or fetus) — and avoid considering or seeking an abortion, later on. Yet, right-to-lifers blocked this pill from being sold over the counter; and compassionate, Christian conservative doctors refuse to tell rape victims about the pill — even when the law requires a woman to have access to it, to prevent pregnancy.
No soul or spirit has ever died in an abortion. No spirit or soul is denied incarnation. It comes here, sooner or later, when it finds a suitable vehicle.
It is impossible to kill any spirit or soul in the act of abortion; a soul does not attach itself to the body until the act of birth, and the soul or spirit cannot be killed by aborting a fetus. There is no spirit or "human being" attached to the physical body until birth. What matters in all actions, including abortion, is intent. The act of aborting a fetus in not synonymous with evil intent; and, the fact that a fetus is terminated is not equivalent to murder. This is not a hypocritical moral judgment, but a realization of the role of intent in the commission of an act. Few abortions are done with the intent to increase human suffering.
That being said, there is a lot of evil in our society related to abortion.
The most twisted and perverse people, whether they happen to be Satan worshipers or fanatical feminists, have taken it upon themselves to sponsor, promote, support, and celebrate the act of abortion — as an act of sacrifice to Satan, or as a declaration of the non-existence of God, a soul, or spirit. They celebrate abortion as an act of hate (not love), ego, selfishness, and evil — they believe they are killing a baby. And they keep pushing the boundaries of their wickedness: they have now passed laws that allow abortion of a baby after birth. And, yes, that is evil.
